Why This Recipe Is So Good
Best Cooking Tips
- Avoid overmixing the meat to prevent tough patties.
- Let the burgers rest a few minutes after cooking for better flavor and moisture.
Step 1
Halv the avocados and removing the pits. Scoop the flesh into a bowl, then add lime juice, chili powder, salsa, and a pinch of salt. Mash everything together with a fork until it’s nicely chunky. If you’re not using the guacamole right away, press a piece of plastic wrap directly onto the surface to keep it from browning, and pop it in the fridge.

Step 2
Mix together garlic, salt, pepper, cumin, and paprika in a small bowl. Brush your turkey patties with olive oil on both sides, then sprinkle the seasoning mix evenly over them.

Step 3
Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high and cook the patties, covered, for about 5 to 6 minutes per side, until they’re cooked through and no longer pink inside. If you want to add cheese, place it on the patties during the last minute of cooking so it melts nicely.

Step 4
While the burgers are cooking, brush the buns with melted butter and toast them in another skillet for about 15 seconds on each side until they’re just a little crispy and golden.

Step 5
To assemble, put each patty on the bottom half of a bun, spoon on a generous amount of guacamole, and add any other toppings you like. Serve with some salsa on the side for dipping.
