Ingredients
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 ½ cups water, divided
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 (.25 ounce) package unflavored gelatin (such as Knox ®)
Why This Recipe Is So Flavorful
Cooking Techniques
- Cook slowly over low heat to develop deep flavors without drying out the meat.
- Stir frequently to prevent sticking and ensure even cooking.
Step 1
Combin the ground turkey, 1 cup of water, chopped onion, cloves, sage, and cinnamon in a saucepan. Bring everything to a boil, then lower the heat and let it simmer gently for about 45 minutes. Every now and then, use a spatula to mash the mixture a bit as it cooks. Once it's done, take the pan off the heat.
Step 2
While the turkey is cooking, mix the gelatin into the remaining half cup of water and stir until it’s fully dissolved. Pour this gelatin mixture into the turkey and give it a good stir to combine.
Step 3
Transfer the mixture to a small container and pop it in the fridge. Let it chill for about an hour until it’s cool and set.
