Helpful Cooking Tips
- Make sure to preheat the oven fully to get a crisp, golden crust.
- Let the pie rest for a few minutes before slicing to help it hold together.
Step 1
Lightly heat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking sheet with cooking spray. Roll out one package of crescent roll dough onto the baking sheet, pinching the seams together and stretching it to cover the whole pan. Layer on slices of Cheddar cheese, then add the ham, and top with the remaining cheese slices.

Step 2
Roll out the second package of crescent dough on a flat surface and pinch the seams together. Carefully place this dough over the cheese and ham layer, pressing the edges down with a fork to seal everything in. Make a few shallow cuts on top of the dough so steam can escape while it bakes.

Step 3
In a small bowl, whisk together an egg and a splash of water, then brush this mixture all over the top crust. Sprinkle some sesame seeds, along with a little salt and pepper, over the egg wash. Pop it in the oven and bake until the crust turns golden brown, about 15 minutes. Let it cool slightly before slicing and serving.
