What Makes This Dish So Tasty
Cooking Techniques
- Avoid pressing down on the patties while cooking; it squeezes out the juices.
- Let the burgers rest for a few minutes after cooking to keep them moist.
Directions
Start by lightly oiling a large skillet and heating it over low heat. In a big bowl, combine the ground beef with egg whites, chopped sun-dried tomatoes, crumbled goat cheese, sea salt, steak seasoning, and parsley. Mix everything together well, then shape the mixture into five evenly sized patties. Place the patties in the skillet and let them cook gently for about 5 minutes. Flip them over and cook for another 5 minutes. Now, turn the heat up to medium or medium-high, cover the pan, and keep cooking the burgers, flipping them every now and then, until they’re cooked through and still juicy—this should take another 5 to 10 minutes. To be sure, check that the internal temperature hits 160°F. Right before serving, add a splash of liquid hickory smoke seasoning on top for an extra burst of flavor.
