Why This Recipe Is A Must Try
Tips For Better Flavor
- Spread seeds in a single layer on the baking sheet for even cooking.
- Stir seeds halfway through roasting to prevent burning and ensure crispiness.
Step 1
Put the pumpkin seeds in a container with a lid. Add the Worcestershire sauce, hot pepper sauce, bacon grease, and a bit of liquid smoke, then give everything a good stir to combine. Seal the container and let the seeds soak up all those flavors overnight.
Step 2
When you’re ready to cook, preheat your oven’s broiler and position the rack about six inches from the heat. Using a slotted spoon, scoop the seeds out of the marinade and transfer them to a bowl. Sprinkle in the cayenne pepper and garlic salt, then toss everything together so the seeds are nicely coated.
Step 3
Spread the seeds out in a single layer on a baking sheet, and sprinkle a little extra salt on top. Pop them under the broiler and roast until they’re golden and toasted, which should take around 8 minutes. Be sure to turn them over a couple of times while they’re cooking so they brown evenly. Let the seeds cool down before digging in.
