Why You'll Want This Again
Cooking Tips You Should Know
- Choose a cheese that melts well, like cheddar or mozzarella, for a gooey, satisfying texture.
- Grill the sandwich on medium heat to avoid burning the bread while allowing the cheese to melt properly.
Step 1
Melt a tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium heat. Toss in the broccoli and onion, cooking them until they’re nice and tender, about 5 minutes. Once they’re softened, take the pan off the heat and let the veggies cool for a bit.

Step 2
Spread the sautéed broccoli and onion evenly over two slices of bread. Layer two slices of Cheddar cheese on top, sprinkle a little garlic powder for extra flavor, and then top each with the remaining slices of bread.

Step 3
Heat another tablespoon of butter in a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Swirl the pan so the butter coats the bottom evenly, then carefully place the sandwiches in the skillet. Let them cook until the bread on the bottom turns golden brown, which should take about 5 minutes.

Step 4
Melt the rest of the butter in the skillet, then flip the sandwiches gently. Make sure to coat the top side of the bread with the melted butter as you cook. Keep cooking for another 2 to 5 minutes until the other side is golden and the cheese inside is melted. Enjoy your sandwich warm!
